He Went Viral 17 Million Times Preaching Proverbs — Nate DaSilva | Getting Real with Real

There's a difference between a Christian influencer and a man who simply refuses to give his opinion when God already gave His.

That's Nate DaSilva.

On Episode 3 of Getting Real with Real, Coach sat down with the French-Canadian creator behind the viral Bible series "Proverbs Prevail" — the guy who takes the internet's most controversial, most-shared clips and answers them with nothing but Scripture. No commentary. No hot take. Just the book, the verse, and the mic drop.

One of his videos hit 17 million views. He didn't plan it. He didn't buy a course on it. And when it happened, he didn't take the credit for it either.

From New Believer to 17 Million Views

Nate isn't a lifelong pastor's kid. He came to faith at the end of 2024 — what he calls "a Peter-type salvation," not a dramatic Damascus Road moment, just a slow, steady pull toward Jesus. Somewhere in that process, a simple idea took root: stop reacting to viral content with opinions, and start answering it with the Bible instead.

He named it Proverbs Prevail. He didn't expect the numbers. He got them anyway.

"I'm literally doing the process that I want to bring to people, but it's helping me along the way. I don't know the word perfectly — doing the video, making the connection, that's teaching me the word too."

The Danger Nobody Warns You About: Going Viral as a Christian

Here's the part most "how to grow on social media" content skips.

Nate got real with Coach about what happens after the algorithm notices you. The pride that creeps in. The temptation to reverse-engineer a formula instead of trusting God's timing. The gap between his first viral hit and his second — months of silence that forced him to check his heart before he got any more reach.

"You gotta know where your heart is, because God knows where your heart is — what's your heart posture about things. And He's going to reward you for your heart posture."

Coach connected it straight back to James 1:22 — don't just hear the word, do it — and to a hard truth about influence: the moment you start believing your own hype is the moment you've already started to fall.

The Video He Almost Didn't Post

Every bold believer has one. For Nate, it was a clip involving a woman proclaiming "Jesus is Lord" at a political rally — and a Proverb about people who love darkness rather than truth. He sat on it. Not out of fear of the internet, but fear of losing a friendship with someone close to him who is Muslim.

He never posted it.

Until this interview, when he made a decision live, out loud, on the record: it's time.

That's the throughline of this whole episode — bold obedience over comfortable silence. Not recklessness. Obedience.

Chasing Jesus, Not a Wife, Not a Following

One of the most transparent moments: Nate admitting he still wrestles with idolizing marriage and the idea of "the lifestyle" over his mission. Coach didn't let him off easy, and Nate didn't try to sound polished about it. That's the whole point of this show — raw, real, brutally transparent, so somebody listening feels less alone in the same fight.

What This Episode Is Really About

This conversation isn't a growth-hacking tutorial. It's a case study in what it looks like to hold influence, virality, and a following with an open hand — giving God the glory before the applause even finishes.

Bold faith isn't safe. It isn't comfortable. It's just obedient.
